Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour

  • 2/3 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Combine sliced peaches with 1 cup sugar and simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Melt butter in a 1-quart glass baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, mix 1 cup sugar, 1 cup flour, and 4 teaspoons baking powder.
  4. Stir in 2/3 cup milk until the batter is smooth.
  5. Pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish.
  6. Spoon the cooked peaches over the batter.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 20 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
