Iced Tea Devil'S Food Cake

- Cream the shortening and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Sift together the flour, cocoa, and salt.
- Alternately add the sifted dry ingredients and the iced tea with soda dissolved in it to the creamed mixture, starting and ending with the dry ingredients.
- Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
- Bake at 325°F in a Pyrex dish or 350°F in a metal pan for about 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool before removing from the pan.
