Ingredients

  • 6 c. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. dry milk
  • 6 Tbsp. lard or shortening

Instructions

  1. Mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, and dry milk.
  2. Add the lard or shortening and mix until crumbly.
  3. Begin adding water gradually until a nice, soft dough forms.
  4. Roll the dough on a floured board to the desired size.
  5. Poke a hole in the middle of each piece.
  6. Fry in a pan with 1 inch of oil or in an electric fryer until browned to your liking, turning to fry the other side, then drain.
