Ingredients

  • 2 c. buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 c. raisins
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 c. sugar

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter and mix it with the buttermilk and beaten eggs.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir well with a spoon.
  4. Fold in the raisins until evenly distributed.
  5. Grease and flour two loaf pans.
  6. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35 to 40 minutes until the bread is golden or a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
