Italian Pasta Fagiola Soup Mix And Recipe
Ingredients
- Bean and Spice Mix ⓘ
- 3/4 cup great northern bean ⓘ
- 3/4 cup pinto beans
- 3/4 cup red beans ⓘ
- 1/4 cup dried onion flakes ⓘ
- 2 teaspoons instant minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 bay leaf ⓘ
- 1 cup dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon dried celery flakes ⓘ
- 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary ⓘ
- 3/4 teaspoon salt ⓘ
- 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes ⓘ
- 1 1/4 cups small shell pasta (shell, bowties or ditalini) ⓘ

- 2 tablespoons olive oil ⓘ
- 1 carrot, cho ⓘ
- 1 stalk celery, chopped
- 1/2 lb ham, cubed (or Italian Turkey Sausage ) ⓘ
- 2 (28 ounce) cans Italian plum tomatoes, chopped ⓘ
Instructions
- In a large soup pot ( or crock pot ) saute carrots, celery, and ham in olive oil.
- Add tomatoes, chicken stock( or water) and bean and spice mix.
- Bring to a boil. Cover partially, and reduce heat and simmer until beans are tender.
- Cook pasta until al dente.
- To serve:.Place pasta in the bottom of bowls and spoon hot soup over the pasta. Garnish with Parmesan Cheese.
