Ingredients

  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 12 oz. preserves

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the cream cheese, butter, and sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Add vanilla extract and mix.
  5. Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Alternately add the dry ingredients and milk to the creamed mixture, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  7. Grease a 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
  8. Spread half of the batter evenly in the prepared pan.
  9. Spread the preserves evenly over the batter.
  10. Top with the remaining batter, spreading gently to cover the preserves.
  11. Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
