Vanilla Almond Crunch

- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Toast slivered almonds in melted margarine until golden brown.
- Remove half of the almonds from the margarine and set aside.
- Combine crushed Rice Krispies, light brown sugar, flaked coconut, and salt with the remaining almonds and margarine in a bowl.
- Pat the mixture into a 9 x 13-inch pan to form the crust.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes.
- Allow the crust to cool completely.
- Spread softened peppermint ice cream evenly over the cooled crust.
- Sprinkle the remaining toasted almonds over the top of the ice cream.
- Place the pan in the freezer until ready to serve.
