Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup minced unpeeled apple
  • 1/2 cup sour milk

Instructions

  1. Combine margarine and sugar until creamy.
  2. Add beaten egg and set aside.
  3. Mix together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and cinnamon.
  4. Stir in minced unpeeled apple.
  5. Alternate adding the flour mixture and sour milk to the margarine mixture, beginning and ending with the flour mixture.
  6. Transfer the batter to an oiled 5 x 9-inch loaf pan.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 to 50 minutes.
  8. Cool completely before eating.
