A flavorful homemade jerky marinade featuring soy, Worcestershire, and spicy jalapenos, perfect for creating spicy, savory dried meat treats suitable for snack enthusiasts.

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 tsp soy sauce
  • 2 jars Pace picante sauce (16 oz. each)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped (optional)
  • 2 medium semi-hot peppers, chopped (optional)
  • 1 small bottle liquid smoke (8 oz.)
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 jar jalapenos (optional)

Instructions

  1. Slice the meat thinly, using a meat slicer if available.
  2. Combine Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, picante sauce, liquid smoke, brown sugar, and optional chopped onions and peppers in a marinade container.
  3. Add jalapeno juice and chopped jalapenos to the marinade if desired, adjusting heat level.
  4. Marinate the meat in the mixture for 3 to 4 days in the refrigerator.
  5. Place the marinated meat slices on trays of a food dehydrator.
  6. Dehydrate at 8 hours, rotating trays every two hours to ensure even drying.
