Tips & Substitutions

For a smoky flavor, consider using smoked bacon or adding a dash of liquid smoke. If you prefer a vegetarian option, substitute the bacon with smoked tempeh or omit it altogether. Adjust the jalapeno pepper juice and sliced jalapenos based on your heat tolerance. This dish can also be made with different types of beans for a unique twist.

Serving Suggestions

Serve Jerry's Hot Barbecue Beans as a hearty side dish at summer barbecues or alongside grilled meats. It pairs beautifully with Nell's Easy Chili or can be enjoyed on its own as a filling meal. Consider garnishing with fresh cilantro or green onions for added flavor.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. To reheat, simply warm in a saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally, until heated through. You can also reheat in the microwave, but be sure to cover the dish to prevent drying out.
