Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 lb. ground beef
  • 1 small green pepper
  • 1 medium onion
  • 29 oz. tomato sauce
  • 1 large can tomato paste
  • 3 cans water
  • 1 can peas
  • 1 can carrots
  • 1 can chili beans (undrained)
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1/4 cup chili powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup cooked noodles (elbow, shell, vermicelli, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Cook and drain ground beef, chopped green pepper, and chopped onion.
  2. In a large pot, add tomato sauce, tomato paste, and water.
  3. Drain and add peas, carrots, and chili beans to the pot.
  4. Add cooked ground beef and vegetables to the pot.
  5. Stir in chopped parsley, chili powder, and sugar.
  6. Add cooked noodles to the mixture.
  7. Simmer, covered, on low heat for 30 minutes.
  8. If the mixture is too thick, add a little water.
