  • 2 Tbsp. melted butter

  4. Add melted butter to the egg mixture.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the peaches in the crust.

Tips & Substitutions

For a sweeter pie, consider adding a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the egg mixture. If fresh peaches are out of season, you can use frozen sliced peaches, just be sure to thaw and drain them well to avoid excess moisture. A store-bought crust can save time if you're pressed for it. This pie is also excellent with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.

Serving Suggestions

Serve this pie chilled or slightly warm with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delightful treat. It pairs beautifully with green salads, like Green Christmas Salad, for a balanced meal. Fresh mint leaves can also add a refreshing touch when serving.

Storage & Reheating

To store leftovers, cover the pie with plastic wrap or aluminum foil and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Reheat individual slices in the microwave for about 20-30 seconds or warm the whole pie in a 350°F oven for 10-15 minutes to regain its freshness. Serve warm for the best flavor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use other fruits in this pie?

Yes, you can substitute peaches with other fruits such as nectarines, plums, or even berries. Just be mindful of the sweetness level, as some fruits may require a bit more sugar depending on their tartness.

How do I know when the pie is done baking?

The pie is done when the egg mixture is set and the top is slightly golden. You can gently shake the pie; if the filling jiggles slightly but is not liquid, it’s ready. The residual heat will continue to cook it as it cools.

Can I make this pie ahead of time?

Absolutely! You can prepare the pie a day in advance. Just bake it and let it cool completely before covering it and refrigerating. For the best flavor, serve it the next day, allowing the flavors to meld.
