A hearty baked bean casserole with smoky bacon, sweet brown sugar, and tangy ketchup, perfect for gatherings, picnics, or comforting family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 can pork and beans
  • 1 can light red kidney beans
  • 1 can lima beans or bean of your choice
  • 8 strips bacon
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon mustard

Instructions

  1. Drain the canned beans and discard the liquid.
  2. Cut the bacon into small pieces and chop the onion.
  3. Brown the bacon with the chopped onion in a skillet.
  4. Do not drain the bacon grease.
  5. Add brown sugar, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard to the skillet.
  6. Cook over medium-low heat until the sugar is melted and the mixture is blended.
  7. Combine the sauce mixture with the drained beans in a large casserole dish.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F for 50 minutes.
