Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk
  • 8 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 packages yeast
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 whole egg

Instructions

  1. Heat the milk until warm.
  2. Stir in 3 cups of flour and dissolved yeast in lukewarm water.
  3. Let the mixture rise for 1 hour.
  4. Add sugar, egg yolks, and remaining flour to the mixture.
  5. Knead the dough well for 15 minutes or until it leaves your hands.
  6. Let the dough rise again until it doubles in size.
  7. Divide the dough into loaves and place into greased pans.
  8. Let the loaves rise for another hour.
  9. Brush the tops with beaten egg before baking.
  10. Bake in a 375°F (190°C) oven for 35 minutes.
