Ingredients

  • 1 (9-inch) pie shell
  • 8 Tbsp. butter
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. cornmeal
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/4 cup whiskey (bourbon)
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream or milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt the butter.
  3. Beat the egg yolks and sugar until light in color.
  4. Beat in the cornmeal and flour.
  5. Gradually add the melted butter, bourbon, heavy cream or milk, and vanilla while continuing to beat.
  6. Pour the mixture into the pie shell.
  7. Bake until a knife inserted comes out clean, approximately 30 minutes.
  8. Let the pie cool before serving.
