Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 sticks oleo
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup Key lime juice
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine oleo, sugar, and eggs; beat well until smooth.
  3. Add flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, key lime juice, and milk; mix thoroughly.
  4. Fold in chopped nuts.
  5. Pour batter into greased loaf pans.
  6. Bake for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool for 10 minutes in the pans.
  8. Remove from pans and place on a rack to cool completely.
  9. Let sit overnight for better flavor if desired.
