- Combine in a large pot 5 cups water, salt, yellow rice coloring, crushed garlic, pimentos, crushed red pepper, ground red pepper, kielbasa, sliced onions, butter, and olive oil.
- Bring to a boil, then add the rice.
- Cover, turn the heat to low, and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes until almost all water is gone.
- Remove from heat, uncover, and let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
