- Put pecans in a colander and pour a kettle of boiling water over them, then let them stay under hot water for a minute or two.
- Drain the pecans.
- Place a Turkish towel on the counter with paper towels on top.
- Put the pecans on the towels.
- Dry the pecans thoroughly.
- Roast the pecans in a 250°F (120°C) oven for an hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
- Spread butter into the pecans and sprinkle lightly with salt.
