Ingredients

  • 1 lb. shelled pecans
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp. butter or oleo
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Put pecans in a colander and pour a kettle of boiling water over them, then let them stay under hot water for a minute or two.
  2. Drain the pecans.
  3. Place a Turkish towel on the counter with paper towels on top.
  4. Put the pecans on the towels.
  5. Dry the pecans thoroughly.
  6. Roast the pecans in a 250°F (120°C) oven for an hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  7. Spread butter into the pecans and sprinkle lightly with salt.
