Tips & Substitutions

For a deeper flavor, let the beef marinate for a few hours or overnight. You can substitute the kiwi with a ripe pear for a similar tenderizing effect. If you prefer a spicier stew, add some gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes) to the seasoning sauce. Additionally, you can use beef chuck if short ribs are unavailable, though it may require a longer cooking time.

Serving Suggestions

Serve this hearty Korean Beef Stew with steamed rice, which helps soak up the delicious broth. You can also accompany it with kimchi or pickled vegetables for a balance of flavors. This stew pairs beautifully with rice, making it the perfect comfort meal, especially on chilly days.

Storage & Reheating

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. To reheat, warm the stew gently on the stovetop over low heat, adding a splash of water if it thickens too much. You can also microwave it in short intervals, stirring in between until heated through.
