- Put meat into bowl.
- Wet the bread with some milk, squeeze out excess mixture.
- Add bread to meat, add slightly beaten eggs, onions, garlic, salt and pepper and mix well.
- Turn onto a wet wooden bread board and form into small patties, oval shaped. Mixture should make about 12 cakes.
- Dredge with bread crumbs on all sides, pressing to make the bread crumbs stick to the patties. Make a waffle pattern on the patty with a fork.
- Heat Crisco in pan and cook the patties until brown.
- Cook about 6 minutes on each side.
