Ingredients

  • 2 c. shortening
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Mix shortening, white sugar, and brown sugar together.
  2. Add eggs and vanilla, then mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and blend thoroughly.
  5. Roll teaspoons of dough in sugar or cinnamon sugar and place on a cookie sheet.
  6. Bake at 375°F for 15 minutes.
