Ingredients

  • 1 lb. brown sugar
  • 1/2 lb. butter or margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups Mothers oats

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and brown sugar together thoroughly.
  2. Add vanilla and egg, then blend in salt and oats.
  3. Chill the mixture several hours in the refrigerator.
  4. Make small balls and place them far apart on aluminum foil on a cookie sheet.
  5. Bake at 375°F for 8 to 10 minutes, until brown.
  6. Slide the foil onto a rack and let cool.
  7. Cookies will then peel from the foil.
