Ingredients

  • 3/4 lb. oleo (3 sticks)
  • 1 1/2 cups shortening
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 pound powdered sugar, sifted
  • 6 large eggs, unbeaten
  • 1 pound flour, sifted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Grease and flour the bottom of a 10-inch tube pan.
  3. Mix butter and shortening until soft.
  4. Blend in nutmeg and vanilla.
  5. Stir in the sifted powdered sugar.
  6. Beat in eggs, one at a time.
  7. Stir in the sifted flour.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared tube pan.
  9. Bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes or less.
