Ingredients

  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • butter or oleo
  • 1 large can tomato juice
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 cans pinto beans
  • 1 bottle Mexene chili powder
  • 1 good pinch sugar
  • 4 to 5 medium cloves garlic
  • 2 lb. ground chuck or 1 lb. ground chuck and 1 lb. deer chili meat

Instructions

  1. Saute onion and garlic cloves in butter or oleo.
  2. Brown meat. Combine onion and garlic with meat in a large pot.
  3. Pour in beans (you can use precooked dry pintos) and tomato juice.
  4. Add enough water to fill pot.
  5. Bring to a boil; then simmer 2 to 3 hours. Salt and pepper to taste.
  6. If you do not like a lot of tomato taste you can substitute 1 can of beef broth and 2 (8 ounce) cans of tomato sauce.
