Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. margarine
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup cream
  • Meat Sauce Bolognese
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 lb. lasagne noodles

Instructions

  1. Melt the margarine in a saucepan.
  2. Blend in the flour, milk, and cream to make the sauce.
  3. Stir over moderate heat until the sauce bubbles and is smooth.
  4. Add salt, pepper, and nutmeg to taste.
  5. Cook lasagne noodles in boiling salted water until al dente.
  6. Strain, rinse with cold water, and spread on a damp towel to dry slightly.
  7. In a large pan or dish, spread a thin layer of Meat Sauce Bolognese, then a layer of cream sauce and cheese.
  8. Repeat layers, ending with cheese on top.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 35 to 40 minutes until bubbly and browned on top.
  10. Allow the lasagne to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
  11. Cut into portions and serve, yielding approximately 6 to 8 jumbo servings. Optionally add cottage cheese or more Parmesan or mozzarella cheese on top.
