Ingredients

  • 1 large round steak
  • 4 potatoes
  • 4 onions
  • 4 carrots
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • butter

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice potatoes, onions, and carrots. Leave soaking in water until ready to use.
  2. Tenderize the round steak and cut into 4 pieces.
  3. Sear each piece of steak on both sides in a very hot skillet to seal in juices.
  4. Place the seared steak on a large piece of heavy-duty aluminum foil.
  5. Season with salt and pepper if desired.
  6. Arrange the sliced potatoes, onions, and carrots on top of the steak. Season with salt and pepper; dot with butter.
  7. Close the foil securely and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 1.5 hours.
