Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1/4 cup softened margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350°.
  2. Grease and flour loaf pans.
  3. Measure all ingredients into a large mixer bowl.
  4. Blend 1/2 minute on low speed, scraping the bowl constantly.
  5. Beat 3 minutes on high speed, scraping the bowl constantly.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared pans.
  7. Bake 65 to 70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
