Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup dried lima beans
  • 1 1/2 quarts water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 sliced onion
  • 2 stalks celery, sliced
  • 1 carrot, sliced
  • 1 cup evaporated milk

Instructions

  1. Cook all ingredients except the evaporated milk until the beans are tender.
  2. Add the evaporated milk; heat through but do not boil the milk.
  3. Transfer to a baking dish and bake until heated thoroughly.
