Little Supper Pizzas
Ingredients
- 2 c. all-purpose flour* ⓘ
- 2 tsp. baking powder ⓘ
- 1 tsp. salt ⓘ
- 2/3 c. shortening ⓘ
- 1/2 c. hot water ⓘ
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice ⓘ
- 1 egg yolk, beaten ⓘ
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce ⓘ
- 1 or 2 large mild onions, sliced ⓘ
- 1 green pepper, cut into rings ⓘ
- 1 Tbsp. dried oregano leaves ⓘ
- pickles, olives and cheese cubes ⓘ
Instructions
- Prepare Sausage Topping.
- Heat oven to 450°.
- Mix flour, baking powder and salt.
- Stir in shortening, water, lemon juice and egg yolk.
- Mix until dough cleans side of bowl; divide into 24 parts. Pat into 3 1/2-inch circles on ungreased baking sheets; prick with fork.
- Bake until light golden 6 to 8 minutes.
- Remove from oven; leave crusts on baking sheets.
- (Crusts can be baked several hours ahead of time.)
- Reduce oven temperature to 400°.
