Ingredients

  • 5 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 tablespoons baking powder
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • Anisette to taste
  • Confectioners sugar
  • Lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, eggs, milk, and vanilla in a mixer until creamy.
  2. Gradually add flour and baking powder to form a dough.
  3. Knead the dough for about 5 to 10 minutes.
  4. Roll the dough into knots.
  5. Bake the knots for 12 minutes, rotating trays from bottom to top halfway through.
  6. Ensure they are white and not brown.
  7. Let cool before serving.
