Ingredients

  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 c. rolled oats
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 1/3 c. cooking oil
  • 1/2 c. skim milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. raisins

Instructions

  1. Sift flour, soda, salt and cinnamon together.
  2. Stir into oats. Beat egg whites with a fork and then combine with sugar, oil, milk, vanilla and raisins.
  3. Lastly, combine with flour mixture; mix well.
  4. Drop by teaspoon on oiled cookie sheet.
  5. Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 350°.
  6. Makes 3 dozen.
  7. Shorter baking time makes for a chewy cookie.
  8. Bake longer and they are crisp.
