- Cook macaroni according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Place macaroni in a 2-quart microproof casserole.
- Place margarine in a 4-cup glass measure and cook on High for 1 minute or until melted.
- Stir in flour until blended.
- Pour milk into a 2-cup glass measure and cook on High for 2 minutes. Stir into the flour-butter mixture.
- Cook on High for 5 to 6 minutes or until thickened, stirring frequently.
- Add salt and instant minced onion.
- Add shredded Cheddar cheese and stir until melted.
- Pour cheese sauce over macaroni and blend well.
- Serve immediately.
