Ingredients

  • 2 c. elbow macaroni
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 c. milk
  • 2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. instant minced onion

Instructions

  1. Cook macaroni according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Place macaroni in a 2-quart microproof casserole.
  3. Place margarine in a 4-cup glass measure and cook on High for 1 minute or until melted.
  4. Stir in flour until blended.
  5. Pour milk into a 2-cup glass measure and cook on High for 2 minutes. Stir into the flour-butter mixture.
  6. Cook on High for 5 to 6 minutes or until thickened, stirring frequently.
  7. Add salt and instant minced onion.
  8. Add shredded Cheddar cheese and stir until melted.
  9. Pour cheese sauce over macaroni and blend well.
  10. Serve immediately.
