Ingredients

  • 16 oz. macaroni
  • 3 c. stewed tomatoes
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 3 c. Cheddar cheese, shredded and divided
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Cook macaroni according to package directions minus 2 minutes.
  2. Drain and rinse with hot water.
  3. Pour the cooked macaroni into a large mixing bowl.
  4. Add stewed tomatoes, chopped onion, sugar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the macaroni.
  5. Mix well and transfer to a baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle with 2 cups of shredded Cheddar cheese.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
  8. Remove from oven, top with remaining cheese if desired, and serve hot.
