Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. soft butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten lightly
  • 1/2 pint dairy sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar.
  2. Add the eggs, sour cream, and vanilla, beating until well blended.
  3. Sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, beating after each addition.
  5. Mix chopped walnuts with sugar and cinnamon mixture.
  6. Butter a 10-inch tube pan.
  7. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan.
  8. Sprinkle half of the walnut and sugar mixture on top of the batter.
  9. Add the remaining batter to the pan and cover the top with the remaining nut mixture.
  10. Bake in a moderate oven for 45 minutes.
