Ingredients

  • 3 cups molasses
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Beat all ingredients together and turn into an unbaked pastry shell.
  2. Bake in a hot oven (450°F) for 10 minutes.
  3. Reduce heat to moderate (350°F) and bake for 30 minutes longer, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
