Ingredients

  • 5 cups flour
  • 2 cups shortening
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 can crushed pineapple
  • 1 can cherries
  • 1 box candy fruit
  • 1 pound raisins
  • 1 cup port wine
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Mix soda with fruit juice to activate.
  2. Combine all ingredients together in a large bowl.
  3. Divide the mixture into 5 loaves.
  4. Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 1 hour until done.
