Maple Nut Pudding

A rich and creamy maple nut pudding with crunchy pecan and vanilla wafer layers, perfect as a dessert for special occasions or comforting family treats.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup maple syrup (Log Cabin)
  • 1 envelope Knox gelatine
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 1/2 cups whipping cream
  • 1/2 pound vanilla wafers, crushed

Instructions

  1. Scald the milk.
  2. Dissolve the Knox gelatine in 1/2 cup hot water.
  3. Add the dissolved gelatine to the scalded milk, then add the maple syrup and mix well.
  4. Place the mixture in the refrigerator to cool.
  5. When cooled enough to thicken and be rolled from a spoon, add the whipped cream and chopped pecans.
  6. Crush the vanilla wafers.
  7. Place half of the crushed wafers in an oblong dish.
  8. Pour the pudding over the layer of crumbs.
  9. Add the remaining crushed wafers over the pudding.
  10. Refrigerate until firm set, preferably overnight.
