Ingredients

  • 1 large head cabbage
  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 1 lb. unseasoned pork sausage
  • 1 lb. bacon
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 tsp. parsley flakes
  • 1 tsp. basil flakes
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar

Instructions

  1. Remove the center from the head of cabbage.
  2. Place the cabbage head in a large pan and cover with water.
  3. Add vinegar to the water.
  4. Cook until the leaves become soft and can be removed.
  5. Line the bottom of a roaster pan with some of the cooked cabbage leaves.
  6. Mix hamburger, sausage, cooked rice, parsley flakes, basil flakes, salt, pepper, and garlic salt together.
  7. Place a portion of the mixture on individual cabbage leaves and roll them up.
  8. Wrap each roll with a bacon slice and secure with a toothpick.
  9. Place the wrapped rolls in the roaster pan.
  10. Dissolve 4 beef bouillon cubes in the juice from the cooked cabbage and pour over the rolls.
  11. Bake uncovered at 350°F for 2.5 to 3 hours.
