A hearty brunch casserole layered with crispy bacon, sharp Cheddar, and buttery bread cubes, perfect for weekend gatherings or special breakfast celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 10 slices white bread, trimmed and buttered on both sides, cubed
  • 2 lb. bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 3/4 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 c. milk
  • 4 green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Separate the cubes of buttered bread to prevent them from sticking together and place them in a greased 9 x 13-inch glass baking dish.
  3. Cook and crumble the bacon.
  4. Sprinkle the cooked bacon evenly over the bread cubes.
  5. Grate the sharp Cheddar cheese and sprinkle it over the bacon and bread.
  6. In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk and chopped green onions, mixing well.
  7. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread, bacon, and cheese in the dish.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 45 minutes, or until the casserole is set and golden brown.
  9. Serve hot and enjoy!
