Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground meat
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 lb. can tomatoes
  • 8 oz. can tomato paste
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • pepper
  • 5 oz. noodles
  • Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 3 to 4 green onions
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 3 oz. cream cheese

Instructions

  1. Combine ground meat, salt, sugar, canned tomatoes, tomato paste, crushed garlic, and pepper in a skillet and cook for 1 hour.
  2. Cook the noodles according to package instructions, then drain.
  3. Mix sour cream, cream cheese, and sliced green onions with the hot cooked noodles.
  4. Butter a 1 1/2-quart Pyrex dish.
  5. Layer the meat sauce, then the noodles mixture, and then the meat sauce again in the dish.
  6. Sprinkle grated cheddar cheese on top.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  8. You may freeze or refrigerate the dish overnight. Reheat until hot and bubbly before serving.
