Ingredients

  • 2 medium Vidalia onions
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons low-fat mayonnaise
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed

Instructions

  1. Slice the Vidalia onions and separate into rings.
  2. Combine water, sugar, and white vinegar in a bowl.
  3. Pour the mixture over the onion rings and chill for at least 3 hours.
  4. Drain the onions and stir in low-fat mayonnaise and celery seed.
  5. Serve the salad on a bed of lettuce.
