Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 heaping tablespoons cocoa
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup mashed potatoes
  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 6 oz. package chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Mix shortening, sugar, cocoa, eggs, and mashed potatoes together well.
  2. Add sifted flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda; mix until combined.
  3. Stir in chocolate chips.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet.
  5. Bake in a 350°F oven for 10 minutes.
