Tips & Substitutions
For a richer flavor, consider adding a splash of lemon juice or zest to the tomato mixture. If you don’t have black olives, green olives can work as a substitute. Fresh herbs can be used in place of dried; just double the quantity. For a heartier meal, serve with a side of couscous or rice, similar to what you might find in Mediterranean recipes.
Serving Suggestions
Serve the Mediterranean Chicken With Artichokes over a bed of fluffy rice or alongside crusty bread to soak up the sauce. Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use different types of chicken parts for this recipe?
Yes, you can use a mix of thighs, drumsticks, or even boneless chicken breasts. Just ensure that the cooking time is adjusted accordingly, as boneless cuts may cook faster than bone-in pieces.
What can I substitute for dry white wine?
If you prefer not to use wine, chicken broth or vegetable broth can be a great alternative. For a non-alcoholic option, consider using a splash of white grape juice mixed with a little vinegar to mimic the acidity of wine.
How can I enhance the flavor of the dish?
You can enhance the flavor by marinating the chicken in the olive oil, garlic, and herbs for a few hours before cooking. Additionally, adding fresh herbs like parsley or thyme just before serving can brighten the overall taste.
