Ingredients

  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 can pinto beans
  • 1 can Northern beans
  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne
  • 1/2 Tbsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground pepper
  • 1 c ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 can stewed tomatoes
  • 1 c water

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet or pot.
  2. Add the diced onion to the browned meat and cook until softened.
  3. Add the kidney beans, pinto beans, Northern beans, chili powder, cayenne, salt, ground pepper, ketchup, sugar, stewed tomatoes, and water to the pot.
  4. Mix well and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Serve hot, optionally with cornbread or crackers.
