  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions
