Ingredients

  • 3 large tomatoes
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried marjoram
  • 1/3 cup soft bread crumbs
  • 3 teaspoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Place tomato halves in a shallow baking pan and season with salt, pepper, and marjoram.
  2. Top the tomato halves with bread crumbs, dot with 3 teaspoons of butter, and sprinkle with minced parsley.
  3. Arrange mushroom caps, rounded side down, around the tomatoes in the pan.
  4. Season the mushroom caps with salt and pepper, and dot with the remaining 3 teaspoons of butter.
  5. Broil the assembled dish for about 10 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Invert each mushroom cap and place one on each tomato half.
  7. Serve immediately.
