Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 6 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup cold water

Instructions

  1. Sift all dry ingredients into an 8 x 8-inch pan.
  2. Level the dry ingredients and make three holes in the mixture.
  3. Pour vinegar into one hole, vanilla into another, and oil into the last hole.
  4. Pour water over the dry ingredients and the added liquids.
  5. Mix thoroughly with a fork until well combined.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 minutes.
