Ingredients

  • 1 (9-inch) unbaked pastry shell
  • 2 apples, pared and sliced
  • 6 Tbsp. unsifted flour
  • 1 (28 oz.) jar None Such ready to use mincemeat
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine or butter
  • 1/4 c. chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. Toss sliced apples with 2 tablespoons of flour and arrange in the unbaked pastry shell.
  3. Spread the mincemeat over the apples.
  4. In a small bowl, combine remaining flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  5. Cut in margarine or butter until the mixture becomes crumbly.
  6. Stir in chopped nuts.
  7. Sprinkle the nut mixture evenly over the mincemeat.
  8. Bake for 10 minutes, then reduce oven temperature to 350°F and continue baking for 25 to 30 minutes or until the crust is browned.
  9. Serve warm or cold, optionally with vanilla ice cream.
