- Blend 1 pound butter and cream cheese until smooth.
- Gradually add 5 cups of flour, blending until the bowl comes clean.
- Refrigerate the dough until firm, usually overnight.
- Roll dough out in 10x sugar (not flour), then cut into 4 pieces.
- Mix 2 pounds chopped walnuts, 1 teaspoon melted butter, and 1/2 cup milk to make the nut mixture.
- Divide the dough into about 33 balls, then cut each ball into 4 pieces.
- Spread the nut mixture on the widest part of each dough piece.
- Fold in the edges and back, then roll so the tip is on the bottom of the cookie sheet.
- Bake at 375°F for about 15 to 17 minutes until lightly browned.
- Check during baking to prevent overbrowning.
- Roll the finished nut rolls in 10x sugar.
