- Mix the brown sugar, 1/3 cup margarine, vanilla, and egg yolk with a fork in an ungreased 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Stir in Bisquick baking mix until the mixture is crumbly.
- Press the mixture evenly into the pan to form a crust.
- Bake in a 350°F oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until light brown.
- Remove from oven and let cool.
- In a saucepan, melt together the corn syrup, 2 tablespoons margarine, and butterscotch chips; cool slightly.
- Spread the butterscotch mixture evenly over the cooled crust.
- Sprinkle with nuts and press lightly into the topping.
- Refrigerate until the topping is firm.
- Optional: Freeze for longer storage.
